MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should:
- hold a relevant technical qualification in building, construction or a related discipline;
- have five years of experience in a similar managerial role;
- have a minimum of ten years of experience in property maintenance;
- demonstrate proven experience in managing operational teams;
- have experience in managing contracts, budgets and multidisciplinary projects;
- exhibit proven project management experience in a school environment; and
- hold a valid driver’s licence.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Suitable candidates should:
- possess a solid understanding of statutory compliance and health and safety regulations;
- demonstrate excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines;
- exhibit strong planning, administrative and computer skills;
- be highly organised and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously;
- work effectively in a team environment to achieve collective objectives and enhance effectiveness;
- showcase strong leadership and practical problem-solving skills;
- support the Catholic ethos of the school; and
- commit to the school’s transformation, equity and belonging strategic objectives in support of an equitable, inclusive and safe school environment for all.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be required to:
- oversee the maintenance, repair and upkeep of all school buildings, classrooms and sports facilities;
- manage renovations, construction and improvement projects, including planning, budgeting, contractor coordination and quality control;
- prepare and manage the estate’s budget, monitor expenditures, control costs and ensure value for money;
- source, appoint and manage external service providers (such as cleaning, plumbing and waste management), ensuring that service level agreements are met;
- manage and contribute to school improvement projects as part of the broader school strategy;
lead and manage estate staff; and - oversee all school transport arrangements by liaising with the Senior Driver to ensure that all school vehicles are registered and compliant with the legislation.
